Originally from La Habana. Excellent novelist, winner of 2000 Alejo Carpentier Prize with ‘’Con la noche del Aguafiestas’’, being acknowledged in the same year with the National Prize of Literature after receiving diverse outstanding accolades as versions of the prestigious Casa de las Américas Prize. Playwright. Poetry is also present in his books. He is in addition writer of prefaces, editor and collaborator for prestigious magazines in Cuba and abroad.
