Original from Santiago de Cuba. Winner of gold and bronze medals (110m hurdles) at the Olympic Games of Sydney and Athens. He is 1, 90 meters tall and 85 kilograms weigh and boasts a refined technique. His first success was in 1994, when he competed at the World Championship made in Portugal achieving the fifth position. In 1995 he became Panamerican king sub-19 years and headed the Iberoamerican competition, arriving to semi-final competitions in Atlanta, 1996. He has won outstanding accolades in world championships at outdoors and indoors seasons. Winner of Panamerican Games (1995 and 1999) and champion of the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1998.
