  CONRADO MARRERO RAMOS  (1912-)

He was born at Laberinto Farmer in Sagua la Grande, in the central region of the country. That is the origin of his nickname Guajiro de Laberinto. Being 37 years old he made his bow at the amateur baseball in the Cienfuegos Club, where he won 127 and lost 40 since 1939 until 1945. As a professional pitcher in Cuba, he achieved 68-46, always with El Almendares Club. In Florida with the Havana Cubans he achieved 70-25. Being 39 years old he enters the Great Leagues with the Senators of Washington, where he won 39 and lost 40. Along his entire life he pitches four no hits no runs. He uses to say: Death will have to find me in a baseball field.
