She was brought to life in Santiago de Cuba. She is worldwide known as the Queen of Bolero. She emigrated from Cuba to Venezuela at the beginnings of the 1960’s. She was decorated in several countries where the more than 60 albums recorded by her are highly appreciated. She has the merit of being one of the few singers that have frequently performed in important scenarios like those of the Lincoln Center, in New York, and the Montmartre Cabaret, in Paris.
