Excellent painter and sculptor, he has studied in the National Art School and the Arts Superior Institute in Havana. He is a professor and member of juries in important national and international contests of arts. He has been awarded the Medal of National Culture, the Alejo Carpentier Medal, and the Félix Varela Order among other decorations.
