He first stepped into music at the age of 13. Founder as a trumpet player of the Cuban Orchestra of Modern Music, in 1971, and the famous band Irakere, he was soon considered a virtuous player of his instrument. In 1990, he decides to settle in the United States where he consolidates his virtues as an outstanding pupil of Dizzy Gillespie. He is both a classical interpreter and a professor delivering magisterial lectures in famous places of the world and at the same time he is the composer and interpreter of soundtracks for motion pictures.
