  LUCIANO POZO GONZÁLEZ  (1915-1948)

Known as Chano Pozo, he was born in Havana and was killed in New York, where he beat the leather of his conga drums in the orchestra of his friend Dizzy Gillespie, who said about Pozo: “He was the decisive factor in the process of introducing and integrating Afro-Cuban music into American Jazz”.
